Morgan Leigh Davies is a culture writer and the author of the newsletter Novel Observations. She was previously a staff writer covering pop culture at Bustle, and her writing has been featured in Electric Lit, Jezebel, The Sick Times, CrimeReads, The Village Voice, The Los Angeles Review of Books, Brooklyn Magazine, Bright Wall/Dark Room, and elsewhere. She has also worked as a freelance researcher on book, magazine, and podcast projects.
In 2016, she co-founded the pop culture podcast Overinvested with Gavia Baker-Whitelaw. In 2013, she co-founded the micropress Big Bang Press, which published three novels, including Erin Claiborne's A Hero at the End of the World, a Kirkus Best Teen Book of 2014.
Morgan holds a master's degree in Victorian literature from the University of Oxford and is a graduate of Barnard College, and currently lives in Brooklyn, where she volunteers as a mentor with Girls Write Now. She is currently suffering from long covid and is passionate about disability visibility and justice. In her spare time, she watches tennis and speculates about the Oscar race.
